San Luis Obispo Technical & Business Communicators

About SLO TBC

San Luis Obispo Technical & Business Communicators (SLO TBC), formerly the San Luis Obispo county chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (SLO STC), holds educational and professional development events on the fourth Monday of the month, usually eight months of the year. We take a break over the summer months and resume in the fall.

Our meetings are free and open to the public. Please see our Event Calendar for the upcoming schedule.

Who we are: Technical and business communicators comprise a wide range of professionals, including technical and business writers, editors, and illustrators; publication specialists; instructional designers and trainers; Web designers and developers; graphic designers; presentation designers; information architects; usability and human factors specialists; multimedia producers; and translators.

We warmly welcome students, solo professionals, entrepreneurs, and people from corporate, academic, non-profit, and public service organizations — all of whom keep our exchanges lively and our perspectives diverse!

About our area: Located on the beautiful California Central Coast about halfway between Los Angeles and the Bay Area, San Luis Obispo (SLO) county boasts the prestigious California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) and a mix of vibrant rural and semi-urban cities.
